Official Opening of Oakfield Court, Enniskillen (Thursday 25th November, 2010)

Oaklee Homes Group is pleased to announce the Official Opening of Oakfield Court in Enniskillen, the latest addition by Oaklee Homes Group in providing social and affordable housing in Northern Ireland. Paddy McIntyre Chief Executive of Northern Ireland Housing Executive officiated the opening in advance of his retirement from his esteemed career in housing.

Oakfield Court is made up of 18 family houses and 4 apartments which will provide housing for 100 people in the area, an area which Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) have identified as having unmet family need. Oaklee Homes Group purchased the site in March 2006 and project approval was received in November 2006 with Planning Permission granted in February 2007. The construction work was undertaken by QMAC Construction Ltd and commenced on site on 29 March 2007. The scheme was completed on Monday 7th September 2009, achieving a 'Very Good' Eco-Homes standard rating.

The total development cost for Oakfield Court was £3,267,000, of which half of the funding was provided by the Housing Association Grant from the Department for Social Development (DSD).

Oaklee Homes Group Chairperson Sylvia Doran provided a welcome speech for the new tenants of Oakfield Court,

"It is my pleasure for my Board Colleagues and I to come along to the official opening. It is our vision that everyone has the right to affordable, quality housing. I would like to acknowledge the vital relationships between Oaklee Homes Group, the DSD and NIHE which made Oakfield Court possible. I offer my best wishes to the new residents and I hope they have many happy days in Oakfield Court."
