Oaklee wins Best Housing Association Scheme Award at NI Housing Council Awards 2010 (Friday 15th October, 2010)

Oaklee Homes Group is thrilled to have won the Jim Speers Award for the Best Housing Association Scheme at the Northern Ireland Housing Council Awards 2010.

The annual event is held to recognise the contributions made by individual staff members from the Housing Executive and the Housing Association movement for excellence in public services.

Oaklee Homes Group won the prestigious award for Ellis Grove/Court in Carrickfergus, which provides housing for special needs adults with learning disabilities.

Throughout the design and construction of the scheme there was continuous consultation between Carrickfergus Mencap, Northern Health and Social Care Trust (NHSCT) and Oaklee Homes Group in a tripartite fashion to ensure accommodation as well as care and support needs were met with the resident in mind. The layout of the scheme was designed so that a community feel and security was achieved.

The high standard of accommodation at Ellis Grove/Court has successfully achieved the Lifetimes Homes, Secured by Design and Eco Homes Very Good accreditations.
