Oaklee Homes Group, has just announced plans to build six new, 3 bedroom homes on the site of the old Sion Mills police station in County Tyrone.

Oaklee Homes Group is a voluntary non-profit organisation, which provides and manages quality social housing, care and support services to meet a wide range of needs.
These include Sheltered housing for older people, general family housing, mature singles and also people with special needs.

Ian Elliot, Chief Executive of Oaklee said
'We are very excited by the prospect of being able to offer more quality, affordable homes to people in the Sion Mills area. There is an increasing need for social housing option throughout Northern Ireland and we are determined to be at the forefront of this important provision.'

ECO FRIENDLY

This new development at Melmount Road will be in addition to the existing Oaklee homes at nearby Library Terrace in the County Tyrone village. The new houses on the police station site will be the first Oaklee houses in Northern Ireland to achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4. A very high specification in terms of insulation and general environmental
sustainability is required to achieve this. The six new homes will be similar in size and design, including the additional benefits in terms of environmental sustainability and fuel
efficiency. That means lower heating costs for tenants.

Mrs Connolly, a tenant in Library Terrace is delighted with her home.
'We are very happy and settled in our new home and its environmental features reduces the heating bills. This is a great community for raising a family'

Construction of the new homes is anticipated to commence in March this year and should be completed by December.
